Civic Services

Local authorities across the UK and Europe are embracing social web tools and ’everyday‘ technologies to further inform, consult and involve local people in the decision making process, engage new audiences and build active citizenship to promote democracy. Councils are employing streaming technologies the new social web tools to make politics and the civic process more relevant, local, and efficient.

Civico supports Council’s and public facing organisations to:

  • live streamed from council chambers, and from relevant onsite locations and offsite venues; and to archive that content.
  • Provide streams that are fully contextualised and indexed with speaker names, agenda items and auto jump points.
  • Ensure viewers can access documents, presentations, pictures or data relevant to the meeting
  • offer citizens the facility to respond to the Council by way of social media platforms, everyday web based tools, feedback forums, questions, polls, surveys and consultations.
  • produce a mixture of content that engages citizens and staff alike; to including formal meetings and events, briefings, internal communications, public information and presentations.
  • measure audience and engagement statistics
  • minimise the impact on resources required for streaming of meeting
  • increase citizen and stakeholder participation in meetings and their democratic process
  • build the capacity for active citizenship by improving access, understanding and trust in the local democratic process
